Black Beach Reserve, Kiama
Black Beach Reserve, Kiama – Explorer
Discover Black Beach Reserve from above and below the water with our Kiama Coastal Explorer. The beach gets its name (and colour) from the black basalt sand and cobbles that line the shore – a shimmering black-grey sand backed by green grass, palm trees and the towering Norfolk pines.
The area is a bit of a hidden gem on the South Coast.
From Black Beach Reserve, you’ll venture into the protected harbour, home to unusual volcanic geology and a rich array of marine life, including large stingrays and healthy fish populations. Through activities like kayaking and snorkelling led by our experienced guides and marine biologists, you can explore the bay and surrounding coves – picking up new skills, new knowledge and new memories from your time in the water.
